Women of Faith

It's the countdown until the 2010 Women of Faith event in Indianapolis -- August 20-21, 2010. Last year's event was spectacular: music, comedy, heart-to-heart inspirational talks ... Words can't even describe!

Want to join my group? I still have space available! The heart of the conference opens Friday night, from 7pm-10pm, although there's a special "pre-conference" all day Friday from 10am-3:30pm, if you can attend. Then, Saturday's event runs from 9am-5pm.

Here are some of the guests you will see (and hear):
* Patsy Clairmont - a hilarious lady, she'll make you laugh your socks off!
* Marilyn Meberg - her perspectives on life and happiness will make you think twice!
* Anita Renfroe - I can only hope she does her "Mom" song :)
* Lisa Welchel - she's come a long way since her days as Blair on the Facts of Life!
* Mary Beth & Steven Curtis Chapman - music to set us all to dancing!
* Sandi Patty - inspiring stories and heartfelt tunes!
* Mandisa - you won't be able to fall asleep while she sings!

And more ...

Many of these artists and speakers were in the lineup last year, so they have a history of bring worship to women across the country. Last year was my first year at the event, and I attended with a church friend and my sister-in-law. Wow! What a respite from the "real world" - just at a time when I needed to slow down and take stock of what mattered in my life. This year's conference comes at a great time, too, for taking stock right as the new school year begins.

Details: The price of a ticket is normally $99 for the whole 2-day conference, but if you register with my group, you can get a ticket for only $89. You can get an additional discount if you bring friends (email me for more info: jvweidenbenner(at)gmail(dot)com). Of course, if you don't live in Indianapolis, you will probably need a hotel room, at least for Friday night. I found great rates last year using Priceline (at the last minute) and staying a short way out of the downtown area. Indianapolis is very driveable, and one side of the city isn't all that far from any other. Parking downtown is a bit pricey. The garage we parked in last year charged $10/vehicle each day, no in-out privileges. Carpooling and splitting the parking payment is the best idea, then, as is walking around the downtown area during the break on Friday. Lunch for both days is included in the ticket price, so you just need to worry about Friday dinner and maybe Saturday dinner (assuming that the hotel offers some type of continental breakfast). Generally, a reasonable budget for the whole conference, ticket and travel expenses included, would be <$200.
